3 BIG Reasons You’re Not Creating Lasting Change (And How to Finally Make It Stick)

You're a passionate creative who’s done a lot of self-work.

You go-go-go.
You do-do-do.

But still feel deep-in-your-bones tired of being held back by perfectionism and playing smaller than your truth?

I’m guessing you want to shift into:

  • More time + energy + freedom

  • Less forcing & controlling

  • More real, magical you

When working with clients, this is the #1 thing we do…

That sets them up for success and leads to real, lasting change.
(Highly overlooked, but in my experience — vitally necessary)

We create space in their busy calendar for to-be moments.

What are to-be moments?

Pockets of time in your day where you simply be — and practice being the future version of you you’re stepping into.

AKA: embodiment.

This is vital because it:

  • Creates space to receive juicy downloads, insights, and intuition

  • Allows your mental, somatic, and energy bodies to process and digest the deep, alchemical work you’ve done — either in session or solo

Without integration, there’s no transformation.

I see this so often with my clients — deeply self-aware, wildly creative, and usually years into the self-development path.

They’ve done the courses.
They’ve joined the masterminds.
They’ve meditated, journaled, vision-boarded.

And yet… the change still doesn’t stick.
(This was me too.)

Because here’s the truth most people miss:

More self-work doesn’t automatically mean more transformation.

If there’s no space for that work to land, to marinate, to root — then all the effort stays surface-level.
It’s just more “doing.”
And your nervous system is maxed out.

If you’re always pushing forward (even with the best intentions), but never allowing rest, play, or slowness…

your body doesn’t have a chance to integrate. Let alone rewire.

Practice Prompt:

Carve out 10–20 minutes a day to be with your body and the sensations in your body, intentionally. And watch that change everything.

Yes, for real.

Watch it elevate your artistry, your mission, your creativity, your presence, your output. And your productivity, too.

  • What’s one tiny window of time in your day (even 10 minutes) that you could protect as sacred space — just to be?

Example of a To-Be Moment in Action:

Before you open your laptop, take five minutes to set the tone.
Whether you work from home or in an office, let it be a ritual:
Light a candle.
Tend to a plant.
Spray a grounding mist.
Sway your hips on your chair.
Dance to your energising song.

Then connect to this intention:
“Who am I being today?”

This tiny moment drops you into alignment faster than any to-do list.

So why is this tiny (but mighty) shift in your calendar so vital for creating lasting change?

1. You create transformation through lived, embodied experience.

Change builds through what you practice every day — in small and big ways.

Eventually, it stops being a “practice” and becomes second nature.
You’re no longer doing the change…
You simply ARE it.

2. If your schedule is packed, more self-work can backfire.

You’ve bought the nth program.
Signed up for the course.
Hired the coach.
Even if it’s the right support, it can still feel like… more work.

Cue:

  • Struggling to stay consistent

  • Overwhelm in your nervous system

  • Frustration and stuckness

And that makes creating lasting change harder than it needs to be — and limits the juiciness you could be savoring.

3) You’re rushing the timeline

Real change is layered.
If you expect to flip a switch, you’ll constantly feel behind or disappointed.

Instead, anchor into trust:

  • That the work is working, even when you can’t see it (yet)

  • That your consistency matters more than intensity or one-time efforts

  • That slowing down is a strategy, not a setback

Use this journal prompt to land your intention (and drop the pressure):

“What if I gave myself more time — and focused on feeling the tiny shifts, instead of rushing to prove I’ve made it?”

Makes sense? Yep.
